Researchers from CERTH presented work done in the context of the SMILE action regarding biometrics identification titled “Iris authentication utilizing co-occurrence matrices and textile features”. The presentation took place in the context of the 2nd International Workshop on Research & Innovation for Secure Societies – RISS 2019 on October 10, 2019, at the Politehnica University of Timișoara in Romania.
The second year of RISS workshop aimed at bringing together academia and industry researchers, end-users, law-enforcing agencies and the general public. This way, we had the opportunity to share our experiences among these groups and explore areas where additional research and development is needed as well as to identify possible collaborations.
SMILE partner Protection and Guard Service from Romania was one of the main organisers of this workshop which was made possible made possible by the collaboration of five Secure Societies H2020 projects among them SMILE Action.
