SMILE presentation on biometrics’ based border control at e-Democracy 2019

Dr Mohamed Abomhara from NTNU participated and deliver a talk titled “How to do it right: A framework for biometrics supported border control” at e-democracy 2019 conference, that took place in Athens, Greece on December 12, 2019.

During this event, we presented various ethical, social and legal challenges arising due to the use of biometrics technology in border control. Moreover, Dr Abomhara explained how in SMILE, we provide generic considerations related to the mitigation of these challenges to meet the emergent need for supplying interoperability among multiple information systems used for border control.
