SMILE H2020 Action at SPIE Photonics West 2020

On February 4, 2020, Dr Alexandros Fragkos from Eulambia Advanced Technologies presented the work done on the photonic PUF device as part of SMILE Action at SPIE’s Photonics West 2020 in San Fransisco, CA USA.

The primary goal of the presentation was to demonstrate the complete process from a conceptual idea to the implementation of a standalone, fully working, and miniaturised PUF device. Specifically, Dr Alexandros Fragkos showcased the system’s capability to function both as a random number generator and as a robust authentication mechanism for the needs of the SMILE Action. Following the presentation, participants asked various questions about both the setup of the photonic PUF and its functions within the SMILE architecture.
